Andrew Stec, MD, serves as Vice President, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for ¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾«Æ· Children’s Health, Jacksonville. As CMO, he provides oversight of the medical operations and faculty, while working with clinical and nonclinical teams across the organization to help maintain the highest levels of safe, quality care for our patients and families.Â
As CMO he also helps ¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾«Æ· Children’s build on its successes, while identifying opportunities for targeted growth. Additionally, Dr. Stec’s role is key in the management of our strategic partnership with Wolfson Children's Hospital.
Dr. Stec joined ¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾«Æ· as the Division Chief of Pediatric Urology in Jacksonville, Florida, in September 2019. He transitioned to a role as Vice Chair of the Department of Surgery and became Chief Medical Officer on May 1, 2024. Prior to ¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾«Æ·, he served for five years as the Director of Pediatric Urology at the Medical University of South Carolina. He earned his medical degree at the Emory University School of Medicine and completed a residency in urology at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He specialized in pediatric urology with a fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. Dr. Stec has an academic appointment as an associate professor of urology at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science and he is an active outcomes researcher.
Dr. Stec is a board-certified pediatric urologist with special interests in robotic and minimally invasive surgery and complex urologic reconstruction. He has completed the ¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾«Æ· Certified Physician Manager — LEADER program, ILS Leadership Institute, IHI Certificate in Quality and Safety and is expected to complete his MBA in the summer of 2024.
