Bernie Rice is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Senior Vice President (SVP).  He joined ¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾«Æ· in 1999 and is based in Jacksonville, Florida. He was named CIO in 2008, and is responsible for the leadership and strategic direction of Information Systems supporting ¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾«Æ· clinical operations in six states and policy and prevention work in 25 states.

His computing and technology experience has enabled ¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾«Æ· to advance its mission and realize its strategic destination by leveraging its investment in technology. Bernie has helped build ¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾«Æ· into an award-winning organization, most recently achieving HIMSS Stage 7 for both inpatient and ambulatory operations. ¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾«Æ· has also been continually recognized as a Most Wired organization. Prior to joining ¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾«Æ·, he served in the United States Air Force and as an Information Systems Manager with Anheuser-Busch Companies, LLC.

A native of Jacksonville, Florida, Bernie attended the University of North Florida where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.  In addition, he has achieved the Certified Healthcare CIO (CHCIO) certification from the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME), where he is a member. In addition to CHIME, he is also a member of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS).
