Sharon Mills Higgins is an independent marketing and philanthropy consultant dedicated to driving better health care for all populations. She spent 20 years at Xerox Corporation in a variety of sales, marketing and senior management positions, culminating in her role as Marketing Director, in which she headed a 500-person organization covering a three-state area managing a budget of $300 million.
Sharon is the Chair Emeritus (having just finished her term in July 2024) of the National Board of Trustees of the March of Dimes. In this role for three years, she led a team of accomplished executives ranging from former CEOs of well-known companies to brilliant physicians, high profile high net worth individuals and celebrities. Sharon also acted as interim CEO of the organization in 2022. She had been a volunteer leader for the organization since 2004 and chaired the Campaign to End Preterm Birth from 2016–2018, raising funds to support the Prematurity Research Network, a collaborative of the March of Dimes, and multiple leading research institutions in the United States and the United Kingdom. In 2024, she was chosen by the March of Dimes as the receipient of its prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.
In 2024, Sharon joined the Advisory Board of Blue Clay Health. In addition, she serves on the Board of Directors of Partners in Outreach that focuses on the needs of underserved children. She holds a BA, magna cum laude, from Villanova University and studied in the Masters of Organization Dynamics program at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Â
Mother to three adult children and stepmother to five, Sharon is married to Thomas Higgins, a senior executive with the Vanguard Group. Sharon and her family reside in Malvern, Pennsylvania.
