Family-Centered Care

At ¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾Ã¾«Æ· Children's, we’re committed to making family-centered care the cornerstone of our health system. What does that mean? Well, it means we acknowledge and address your needs, concerns, beliefs, opinions, and feelings — our patients (your children) and you, the parents, families and guardians. We include you in your child's care and the decision-making process — and appreciate and respect that no one knows your child better than you do.

Participation and Collaboration

We encourage and support you in actively participating in your child's care and decision-making at whatever level you choose. We understand that "one size does not fit all" when it comes to children's health.

We include you and ask for your feedback as we strive to be the best health system we can be. We collaborate with parents and children to help us deliver care, design our facilities, educate our staff and develop and evaluate policies and programs.

Information Sharing

We continually communicate with you and strive to give you timely, complete, unbiased and accurate information in ways you can understand. We want to keep you informed and help you be an advocate for your child's care.

Respect and Dignity

We listen to and honor your family's perspectives and choices. We incorporate your knowledge, values, beliefs and cultural backgrounds into the planning and delivery of your child's care.
