Program Overview
The pediatric radiology fellowship at 消消消消消消消娼瞳 Childrens Hospital, Delaware is a one-year program accredited by the and is sponsored by Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University (TJU).
Youll receive well-rounded exposure to a wide variety of pathologies, hands-on training in all diagnostic imaging modalities and experience in preparing research projects.

Our Fellowship Program
Our program admits one fellow per year and focuses on the use of all radiological modalities, with emphasis on the unique needs of children.
Because our program is based at a major pediatric hospital in a large metro area, youll have exposure to a wide range of patients as well as primary care pediatricians and pediatric care providers spanning the entire gamut of pediatric subspecialties who will share their knowledge of pediatric medicine. Our faculty includes many highly accomplished radiologists in the Delaware Valley and Florida. Under their supervision, youll complete rotations in plain radiography, fluoroscopy and cross-sectional imaging encompassing:
- Computed tomography (CT)
- Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
- Ultrasound (US)
- Neuroradiology
- Nuclear medicine
- Interventional radiology
- Cardiovascular imaging (CVI)
During these rotations, youll develop skills to evaluate sick children and to interact with other members of the clinical staff as well as patients and families. Daily work schedules and call responsibilities allow you to become experienced in performing procedures with staff supervision.
Didactics
Multiple departmental conferences as well as interdepartmental conferences, formal lectures and case reviews serve as the didactic component of the fellowship. Youll also have opportunities to become involved in presenting at these conferences and will have progressive teaching responsibilities involving residents and medical students. This component of your training will round out your experience and broaden your perspective.
The program provides up to 5 days of educational conference time with a $1,750 yearly travel stipend. Additional conference time is available for scholarly presentations, with approval from the department and graduate medical education (GME) office.
Electives
Elective time is provided to help tailor the program to your own academic interests. Youll also have the option of completing an elective rotation at消消消消消消消娼瞳 Childrens Hospital, Floridain Orlando, to work more closely with members of our faculty who are primarily based there.
Research
In addition to your rotations and the didactic component of your training, youll be expected to prepare a research project suitable for either publication in a journal or presentation at a national meeting. For help completing this requirement, youll be able to select a mentor who can provide guidance in choosing a suitable topic and executing your project.
