Get to Know Me

My profession gives me the opportunity to help a lot of people everyday – children and adults – in significant ways. As a pediatric endocrinologist with two great children of my own, I do my best to treat each child I care for as my own and do whatever it takes to address their medical problems.

Why I Treat Children

I love treating children because I use my knowledge about pediatric endocrinology to help them get better quickly. It’s a good feeling to know many of them will grow up to be healthy adults with less risk of developing some of the illnesses commonly seen later in life.

What I'm Passionate About

Sometimes I see children who are experiencing medical problems without knowing what’s really wrong. Making the correct diagnosis is important, even if it’s distressful at first for the child and family. Because that’s the first step toward starting the right treatment, and helping that child reach his or her full potential.

Research Activities

A large number of my patients have metabolic problems associated with excessive weight gain. My research interests center on developing sensible, but practical care plans for children, so they can enjoy happier, healthier lives.
