Biography

I am a Principal Research Engineer and have over 30 years' experience in rehabilitation engineering, robotics, orthopedics and exoskeleton design and research. I have 10 patents and have successfully translated a product to industry (Upper extremity exoskeleton) that is currently being used clinically. In my current position as Director of the Center for Orthopedics Research and Development I run a multidisciplinary center involved in scholarly and applied biomedical engineering research. In this capacity I interact with people from various disciplines including medicine, engineering, and biology. I have worked with children with neuromuscular disabilities for more than 25 years. I have participated in projects related to tremor reduction, rehab robotics, biomedical sensors, orthotics and design and respiratory sensors. I have helped develop and test the patented PneuRIP respiratory sensor in children with various disabilities.
