Improving Medication Adherence With Telehealthcare Medication Therapy Management to Change Health Outcomes in Adolescents and Young Adults With Asthma (MATCH)
What is the trial about?
This is a randomized, controlled multi-site clinical trial that will enroll 300 adolescents and young adults aged 14 through 30 years of age who have poorly controlled asthma while prescribed inhaled corticosteroid therapy.
Who can participate?
Ages 14-30 yrs old diagnosed with asthma and currently being treated with a standard prescription inhaled medication.
What is involved?
The study lasts 13 months and involves 5 telehealth clinic visits plus a phone call visit. Those randomized to the pharmacy group (about 150 participants) will have additional telehealth visits (a total of 8) with a pharmacist.
Lung function tests will be performed 5 times at home with each telehealth clinic visit.
