What is the trial about?
To find the highest dose of Metformin that can be given safely in combination with standard chemotherapy drugs.
Who can participate?
Patients must be >1 year of age and ≤18 years of age at time of initiation of protocol therapy.
What is involved?
- Involvement will last for approximately 12 months. Patients will be seen in the clinic approximately 2 times a week while they are getting the treatments.
- Treatment on this study will consist of a combination of standard anti-cancer medications plus the study medication Metformin. The anti-cancer medications are vincristine, irinotecan and temozolomide (VIT).
