What is the trial about?

In this study, we are trying to recruit healthy babies at birth and follow them up to age 6. The purpose of this study is to find a way to look at which babies may be at risk for behavioral or other problems so that in future studies we can try to prevent these problems.

Who can participate?

This study will include healthy infants and their families who reside in Delaware.

What is involved?

The study will last from your child’s birth to the time they reach age 6. There will be 6 study visits. The first study visit will take place when your infant is 1 to 4 weeks old. The follow-up study visits will take place when your infant is 18 months, 30 months, 48 months, 60 months and 72 months.

At child's age 1-4 weeks, we will complete the following:

  • Child brain MRI
  • Child and parents cheek swab to collect DNA
  • Child assessment
  • Parental/family assessment
